Victoria Burman

Victoria BurmanMusic Teacher: Lilia Krieger

Victoria Burman is a 17-year-old Grade 12 student. She began attending voice lessons in St. Albert through Visionary Centre for the Performing Arts at the age of 3, and currently studies voice with Lilia Krieger. Victoria has participated in the St. Albert Rotary Music Festival since she was 10 years old.

Victoria enjoys the stage and has performed with Festival Players for Kids as well as various events including the Habitat for Humanity Opening Ceremony, St. Albert’s Chamber of Commerce Awards, St. Albert’s Snowflake Festival and most recently with Crescendo and as an ensemble member of the Edmonton Singing Christmas Tree.

Victoria will be attending University in the fall, majoring in Biology and will always be looking for an opportunity to sing and perform.  She would like to thank the St Albert Rotary for this incredible award.

Evan Yin

Evan Yin

Music Teacher: David Tutt

Evan Yin is 15 years of age and a Grade 10 student at Old Scona Academic High School. At age 4, he began studying piano with his mother, and then with Sarah Ho and Professor Alexandra Munn. Now he is a student of David Tutt. Evan has also attended the master classes of notable accomplished pianists such as Jerome Lowenthal and Angela Cheng.

Evan was a CMC national scholarship winner in 2013 and in 2019 was awarded First Place in the Alberta Provincial Music Festival Finals Piano Solo (16 years and under). He has won several scholarships from the Edmonton Kiwanis Music Festival, MacEwan University Conservatory of Music Annual Scholarship Competition, Fall Music Festival, and most recently the Alexandra M. Munn Scholarship, John & Andrea Wallin Awards, and the Shean Memorial Scholarships.

As well as scholarships, Evan was a Junior winner of the 37th Northern Alberta Concerto Competition, which led to a performance with the Edmonton Youth Orchestra at the Francis Winspear Centre. In 2019 he completed his Royal Conservatory of Music ARCT diploma in Piano Performance with First Class Honours with Distinction and the highest mark in the Edmonton region.

For the past few years Evan has been doing community service by performing solo concerts at Canterbury Manor. He has also accompanied the Conservatory Orchestra and his school’s jazz band for four years. Evan also enjoys playing trombone and alto recorder, as well as composing and producing music for the OSA Musical Artists Club and creating visual art.
